In the 1930s, Chester Beatty purchased Greek biblical papyrus codices from antiquities dealers in Egypt. Most of these dated to the 3rd century AD. Letters of St. Paul, Gospels and Acts are among the earliest surviving copies of New Testament books.

This mounted print features the papyri 1 Corinthians 13. 4-7 (translation), CBL BP II f.54. It reads as follows.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable; it keeps no record of wrongs; it does not rejoice in wrong doing but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

This window mounted print measures (including mount) 12” x 10″ or 30.3 x 25.3 cm, the print measures 22.5 x 12.5 cm.
